Aftercare

  1. what should i clean it with? is alcohol or hydrogen peroxide okay? We recommend using a wound wash or saline solution for cleaning your piercing instead of products with a chemical base. For everyday cleaning, a simple saline solution is the safest and most biocompatible option. We carry 2 different brands of saline spray that allow for irrigation and easy cleaning.

  2. should i twist, spin or turn my jewelry while its healing? absolutely not! Avoid twisting, spinning or turning your jewelry, this is not required when using high-quality implant grade materials. this unnecessary action can introduce bacteria and irritate the healing tissue.

  3. do you have an aftercare product at your shop? We carry Neilmed and Steri-wash, both excellent wound wash options for piercings. These aerosol sprays provide a convenient and effective way to clean and irrigate the piercing site.

  4. what happens if i get a piercing or irritation bump? Cartilage piercings are particularly prone to developing irritation bumps, which can be challenging to resolve. These bumps often arise from irritation, improperly fitted jewelry, excessive moisture, or an incorrect piercing angle.

If you notice a bump forming, it is crucial to contact us promptly so we can assess the situation and address the issue. Keep in mind that healing/troubleshooting can sometimes involve a trial-and-error process, and the decision of how much time, money and effort to invest is ultimately yours.
